Turning a dead oak tree into a mountain bike jump with a cheap mill

Muahaha! If you're one of those people who insist I buy the optimal tool for every job, you're really gonna hate this one. Today we use a $100 chainsaw and a $30 beam cutter attachment to mill oak into planks. And it works! Then we build a nice little kicker as a proof of concept. Enjoy!
Here is Wranglerstar's video on the saw mill: ismind.info/video/oaxozJ2xeJzHqXE.html
The mill I used is sold out. Here's pretty much the same thing amzn.to/2vPGG1Y

U need a old car hood to put under the the front of the logs u trying to winch. It’s gonna make it a lot easier.

Seth you have ventured into my territory finally!!! You need a snatch block or two you can easily 2-3x your winch capacity but it also cuts your pull speed down as much as you multiply the pull factor! Good luck

I've been watching you since I was 7 and always wanted a mountain bike. Yesterday, my dad surprised me for my 13th birthday and got me a mountain bike. I've been riding it around my city and having the time of my life. Thanks for being a part of my life!

So fun fact, you can't pressure treat white oak because of how moisture resistant it is. It literally doesn't hold the chemicals. It's nearly impossible to use when making laminated lumber because glue doesn't bond with it well, because the chemicals don't penetrate enough to bond. It's reeeeally good stuff and I work with it fairly often in a marine environment

Watching you struggle with that log, was like wheels hadn't been invented :)

PS Hope you used stainless steel fixings, as oak "eats" metal.

milling your own lumber and making projects with it is so badass. Thats an awesome chainsaw mill, and the saw itself was very impressive. I've owned several electric chainsaws and they've all been garbage

Use pieces of PVC or other small sticks to roll big trees up and down the trails. 3" PVC will hold large amounts of weight when used as a roller under the object will cut time in half moving it around

Build a zig zag trail with tall Berms gaps rollers etc (almost like a pump track)so you can keep your speed. All your "trails" are like 10 seconds. I would get annoyed riding there. Needs to be something with some length

The USS Constitution is built with white oak. That's an "Old Ironsides" ramp and should be invulnerable to cannon balls.
