The past nine months has been more than I ever imagined. Pregnancy has been one of the most exciting, challenging and physically demanding things I've ever done. It's brought a new meaning to family and my partnership with Matte - I've watched my daughter develop and grow and now I'm READY to meet her!

This brings back so much memories for me... so much emotions .. it’s so overwhelming. I did epidural as well , could not imagine doing without, was in labour for 24 hrs and it was intense. Well done Shay ..

I watched this with the critical eye of a labour & delivery nurse (“why wasn’t that doula at her house as soon as her water broke?”, “the labour clock doesn’t start ticking as soon as you have a cramp”) and then I got to the delivery and I got CHILLS. That shot of you sitting in the bed with your new daughter 😍. You are a WARRIOR... no matter how that baby comes (home birth/hospital birth, epidural/no epidural, spontaneous/assisted delivery or c-section)... you and all Mamas fought for the safe delivery of your babes and it’s so so powerful and such an incredible thing to witness. Thank you for sharing.

Why are some women so worried about getting an epidural!?? Some times it's needed cuz if you're not relaxing enough then your cervix is not gonna thin out and baby ain't coming!?

I feel so lucky now, had my little boy 2 weeks ago after 5 hours in labour and my waters broke 10 mins before my son was born 😅

Worst doula. During a drug free birth, pitocin shouldn’t of been given unless to speed up the placenta. It makes it so painful. You handled it like the beautiful champ you are! I don’t know what you see in that ugly guy. But that’s your deal!

Congratulations to you both my heart goes out to you don’t know how you done it I thought being in labour for a day and a half was intense I have 3 kids and got an epidural with my third labour is sooo intense nobody but us mums know this. Most painful ever but it’s so worth it once youve got you’re baby in you’re arms. Epidural is the best thing! I felt so much better and at ease when I got it. Don’t care what anybody says it’s a life saver if you’ve been through it you’ll know the feeling x

Let me just are one hell of a trooper making it look easy while on pitocin. I had pitocin with my 1st child, my son, who was a week overdue. Pitocin makes labor so much more painful. And girl you were still being nice and polite. You're a badass. 🙌🏼❤

This is exactly what happened to me. Water broke, didn’t dilate, pitocin, terrible contractions. But after the epidural, it was cake... and this is coming from someone who really didn’t want an epidural.

Well done!
People need to realise a Pitocin labor isn't just being induced, its a completely different labor experience, and is pretty brutal.
Your body is forced to contract, and doesn't go through the stages of labor like laboring naturally.
It basically jumps it to the the final stages of labor.
Its not as if she just caved for no reason, she was managing the labor fine before that.
Doulas tend to prefer drug free labors, and you could tell on her doulas face the minute Pitocin was mentioned, it wasn't going to be a drug free labor.
Not to mention everybody is different.
I know of somebody who had 3 children, no labor pains, and less than 2 hour labors.
She just knew to hurry the minute her waters broke because the baby was coming soon.
I think Shay did an awesome job.
